Liquorice imperial Stout... Brewed as our 9 + 1 beer for De Molen's Borefts 2018 under strict recipe guidelines with the exception of one ingredient. Our chosen ingredient is liquorice. A sleek, black dangerous animal with decadent layers of roasted malt and deep dark reverberations of oily liquorice.

Tap. Black color with beige head. Aroma is salty liquorice, chocolate. Taste is salty liquorice. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Really liquorice!

Pretty clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige to brown head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of coffee, nice roast, some vanilla notes, malty, chocolate, liquorice. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: lots and lots of black liquorice, liquorish, roast, bitter, bit malty, grains. Aftertaste: pretty roasted, some coffee, cocoa powder, bitter, dry, little smoky, some ashes.

Sampled from tap at Borefts 2018. Pitch black. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty aroma of massive licorice, salmiak and dark chocolate. Medium sweet, malty, gently roasty and slightly salty taste of dark chocolate, nougat, licorice and salmiak, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly earthy and a bit salty finish. Medium to full body, slightly oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!
