PROCESS & TASTE
The black widow is fruit-forward, yet tart, with a tantalizing complexity, made with blackberries and freshly pressed New York apples.
DESCRIPTION
Wild blackberries are native across the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of the United States. They grow bountifully throughout summer and ripen to a plump juicy black color in August. They belong to the rose family, as you might expect from their thorny brambles, along with raspberries, strawberries, the stone fruits, and almonds.
Any forager can use blackberries to make wine or infuse whiskey, or enjoy in 12 oz cans with freshly pressed New York apples from Original Sin.

Purple color. Nice sweet apple flavor with tart blackberry. Good twist on normal dry cider.

12oz single from New Beer Distros. Still not use to the texture of these wrapped can labels. They make an awful crunchy sound when empty. Pint glass pour. Body is the color of a concentrated cola. Black, with a reddish brown hue. A flat Guinness? Maybe too dark to call it that. Billowy purple head rises & falls from my pint glass. Smells of purple-flavored "drank", blueberry pancake syrup(you know the one that shows up this time of year), lemon, & some oh so faint apples trailing way behind. Taste is so much of grape Jolly Ranchers & apple/grape juice boxes. Syrupy, rich, oh so so sweet & candy tart. Prickly, dying carbonation. Medicinal on the finish. The Mike's Hard Lemonade version of this(if it exists) would be preferable.

Draft pour at Snallygaster 2017. Poured a clear, but ruby purple color with no real head to speak of. Some light tart notes, apple, dry apple and blueberry notes. This one was okay.

12 oz can. Clear ruby colored pour with a tiny lavender head and poor retention. No lacing. Taste is a mix of very tart green apples and blackberry juice. Dry finish. A little too tart and dry for my liking. 6.0 ABV is well hidden.
