Named for the city where the signature style was born, this Austrian-style amber lager has malt notes of bread crust, toffee, and toast combined with a grassy and floral hop bouquet making for a balanced and full-flavored drinking experience.

Pour is a hazy copper with a large white head. Aroma is a nice baked bread and honey malt. Flavor is a little light. Some caramel sweetness with a bitterness left on the tongue. Still a decent attempt but the aroma was far better than the flavor.

Not a bad Vienna, just missing a little oomph to make it a memorable entry in the style. Biscuit and caramel are present, as is a floral bitterness on the back end, but it fails to make much of an impression beyond that. Wouldn’t turn down a pint, but I wouldn’t seek it out.

Can. Clear copper pour with a medium sized white head that has fair retention. The aroma is classic grains and malts. The taste showcases sweet bread in the forefront, followed by bit of caramel, and then bitter grass. The palate is crisp and clean with lively carbonation. Finishes medium in duration and semi-sweet. Overall: Decent Vienna brew, a bit hoppier than most. Goes down easy.

Can from Hegedorn's. Malty nose, caramel, toast, light nuttiness. Hits the right notes, very subtle, unlike many new world versions. Bright orange-amber with lace. Again, a bit hazy, which I guess is a thing with this brewery. Slightly sweet, nutty bread and caramel. dry, lightly bitter finish. Subtle and simple but delicate and well put together. This won't blow your mind (maybe on tap at the brewery it will), but it is a great drinker, and very delicate.

12oz can. A pleasant, sessionable version of the style. A clean, bright lager, not unlike their other beers. Caramel, perhaps a hint of amber, Vienna malt presumably. Easy drinking, balanced. Good.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a cloudy orange gold with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is wet biscuit and cracker malt. Slick body, bready malt, toffee, light finish, good.

12 ounce can. Amber gold pour. Large frothy beige head. Bready malt nose has toasty notes. First sip brings hints of toasted grain and light caramel. Further along comes notes of nuttiness and sweet malt. Crisp dry finish is pleasant and tasty.
