Maiden 2017 celebrates five amazing years of brewing at Siren. The 2017 blend contains beer from Rum, Bourbon (including Heaven Hill & Jim Beam), Red Wine (French Oak), Tequila and Auchentoshan Single Malt barrels, along with about 15% made up of fresh Maiden. The aroma truly sings this year with red wine and berry notes prominent, before pillowy soft marshmallow on the palate gives way to spirit and spicy wood undertones. The blend rounds off with a long, rich finish.

Bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver; bottled 5 March 2018, 1-2 years old
Dark brown colour, it pours with a large beige head, creamy, in my Napoleon glass; the head reduces quickly but leaves a persistent thin layer. Aroma of dark malt, caramel, nuts (hazelnuts?), wood, hint of alcohol; then some dark fruit, dates, and light Parmigiano cheese; amazingly, also some peach.
Full bodied, sweet without being cloying; the malt base is excellent, not as rich as an Eldridge Pope Thomas Hardy's, but still with an elegant profile, with sweet caramel, fudge, traces of treacle, bourbon vanilla; very nice fruity character, prunes; not very hoppy, true English barley Wine.br>Wonderful, I just wish it came for less than $17.

375ml waxed bottle. (11.3% ABV) Pours a murky red-brown with a medium, creamy, short lived, tan head that leaves spotty lacing. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, raisin, date, toffee, molasses, brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon, rum, red wine and oak. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, raisin, date, fig, molasses, licorice, brown sugar, red apple, dark berries, light spice, vanilla, bourbon, rum, red wine, tequila and oak with a dry, warming finish. Full body with a smooth, creamy, chewy texture and soft carbonation. Excellent, lots of complexity. Quite drinkable for the ABV.

500mL bottle, pours a deep dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma is quite decadent, with lots of bourbon barrels, caramel, and dark dried fruits. Flavour is very complex, with lots of bourbon, dark dried fruits, and caramel. Wonderfully delicate and complex. This is lovely.

375 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with moderate bubbly head. Aromas of fruity bourbon, graham crackers, raisins, and caramel malts. Rich flavors follow same with addition candi sugar, complex oak and various subtle vinous and sweet liqueur flavors. Excellent. Could cellar for a bit...

Bottle thanks to Cloin, shared at home with the mrs - pours dark reddish brown with a beige head. Sweet malty with lots of rich caramel and toffee sweetness, lots of dark dried fruit, singed brown sugar, wooden accents, a plethora of spices in play, warming bourbon and wine soaked notes coming through, full body, spiced warming malty finish. Lovely.

375ml bottle bought at the Brewyard at the brewery, and put aside for my 500th Berkshire rating. A glossy, opaque mahogany body with a thin beige head; rich aroma of soused raisins; smooth and sumptuous in the mouth with a smooth port wine taste and lots of figgy fruit; then a gently warming finish with a touch of rum cask, some caramel and more red fruit. A superb sipping beer.
