Bottle. Dark brown with reddish tint against the light, very small frothy tan head that's gone fast, woodsy sweet whisky aroma, very low carbonation, medium bitter taste with very strong smokey whisky undertones, long finish. This is like fresh whisky! Very potent and not sure how to categorize, though I enjoyed it.

Bottle No. 0835 (out of 1012). Listed with 11.2 % vol. Pours out oily pitch black. Small fast fading dark beige head. Intensive burnt malt with whiskey smell. Taste starts with burnt peat but in a smooth way. Sweet dark berryfruity in the second row. Present hop. Barrelwood in the aftertaste. Alcoholic warming. No carbonation. Very well balanced stuff.

24-06-18 // 330ml bottle shared. From BeyondBeer. Deep black. Brown head. Peaty, smoky Islay whisky nose. Deep roasted black malts. Sweetness. All overweighed by the peatiness of the barrel. After the frist sips, getting used to the peat I get the chocolate and coffee flavours. Slight oily mouthfeel. Great. --- Beer merged from original tick of South Islay (2020) on 07 Jan 2021 at 22:04 - Score: 9. Original review text: Baaaaam. Nose full on Laphroaig. Backed up by a dry dark mild chocolate note. Dry roasted malts.

Bottle shared at Koelschrinker's tasting. Bottle 147/500. Great intense smoke. The beer is great balanced, the Laphroaig Whisky is a fantastic counterpart to the malty and slightly roasted thick beer. Wood, fantastic intense whisky, Long peated woody whisky aftertaste. Fantastic!
