Cask! Not in Buxton! Thought they’d packed it in? Anyway. Clear, deep, reddy brown. Dense, beige foam. Fully lacing. Nose has milky coffee. Roast malt. Vinous notes. Taste is light sweet, with a fruity, tangy vinous edge. Light to medium body. Brisk carbonation. Quite drying. Light, vinous bitterness to finish.

On keg at Brewdog Lothian Rd, Edinburgh. Appearance - black with decent off white lacing. Nose - stewed apple or plum is dominant over any chocolate notes. Taste - much more dark chocolate. Creamy chocolate and then tangy fruit. Palate - medium bodied with a tangy texture. Dry tangy finish Overall - this one is a miss.

From tap at Cirkus 27.11.18. Dark brown. Diminishing beige head. Aroma and taste of dark chocolate, roasted malt and wood. A bit waterish.

Keg @ Station. Pours black thin tan ring. Roasty nose. Oily palate. Light to medium body. Roast, coffee, light liquorice, semi-sweet malts, cocoa, light astringent close. Nice porter.

On tap at BrewDog Shepherds Bush. Very dark brown beer lasting tan head. Thick in the mouth. A drier stout up front with some juicy dark fruits on 5he finish dark cherry. Yes dry overall. Some tannin fruit. Light charcoal. OK fruity porter. Some dark chocolate light coffee character.

Keg at the Rusty Bucket, Eltham. Black pour with a light tan head. Nose of dark roast coffee (dominates), caramel,chocolate. Flavours of dark chocolate, lots more coffee, smoke, cocoa. Quite dry. Roasty, malty finish. Nice.
