This imperial black rye IPA has complex aromas of resinous pine, chocolate-covered cherry, black coffee and spicy pumpernickel. It has a velvety-smooth mouthfeel with a mélange of rye bread, fig, black cherry, espresso, caramel and pine flavors. At 9.2% abv, it finishes with a warming alcohol and lingering hop bitterness.

16oz can at taproom. Near black pour, thin layer of tight, beige foam. Roasty aroma, coffee, burnt toast. Taste is roasty, some sweetness before the bitterness kicks in. Full and creamy feel, light lingering bitterness. Luscious.

16oz can pours out dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is nice big pine citrus hops rich roast malts. Taste is more of the nice big pine citrus hop forward notes and a nice roast malt kick.
