Inspired by a bottom-shelf joke and brewed in an excessively rustic, no-joke way. A homage to those that made do with what they had; we brewed this beer with hay and for a unique funk we inoculated it with Old Man’s Beard, a local lichen. . Open fermented and aged for 18 months in oak. It’s one of a kind, no joke, and like a really bad joke, it’s really good.

375mL bottle, pours a hazy blonde with a quickly-dissipating white head. Aroma is wonderfully fragrant, with lots of rustic farmhouse notes, gentle funk, lots of oak, and hay -- damn that's nice. Flavour is dry and rustic, with plenty of farmhouse funk, intense dry oak, and gentle bugs. Really great yeast expression here. Complex, very dry, and very drinkable. Excellent.
