Hamburg's beer tradition is closely linked to the Hanseatic League. Beer was exported from Hamburg 500 years ago. We brew this beer as a reminder of this important part of Hamburg's history. Pils is perhaps the most casually drunk drink. Going ashore is our alternative.

Can shared by Kyle, thanks! Pours a clear dull gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has earthy grain and straw with a bit of grass underlying. Flavor has a light grass and straw note with a grain backbone.

One of Silke’s fifty. Gold with a frothy, white head. Aroma is herbal, grainy, metallic. Taste is bitter with both a hint of malty sweetness and a floral twist at the finish. Quite pleasant actually and modestly refreshing. Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation, even modestly refreshing. Nice. Good accompaniment to Pinkel und Kohl.

Pours clear gold with a white head. There’s a grainy, biscuity aroma. The flavor is of sweet cereal, bready malt. Bitterness is quite mild. It’s alright but I could do with more hops.

Can at home from the CostCo advent calendar. A crystal clear mid gold coloured pour with a lively rocky white head. Aroma is nice authentic layered cereal malts, honey, some spicy medicinal hop. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, crisp, honey, cracker, cereal, leafy hop, grass, fennel. Palate is semi sweet, grass, crisp finish, highish carbonation. Nice pils.

Can, from the advent calendar. Pours clear golden yellow with foamy white head, malt aroma, high carbonation, medium bitter malty taste, clean thin body, abrupt finish. Well executed, quite a good pilsner.

50cl can from a Costco Advent Calendar, drank at my daughters place in California on 13th December 2021. Poured (twice) into an old Corsendonk glass (stemmed tulip shape). Golden body, snow white head. Grainy front to both the nose and taste, some sweetness in the flavour, alongside some bitterness from the hops. Bog Standard German Pilsener in all aspects.

500 ml from the Advent calendar. Aroma has notes of sweet chalky candy, hay, bread. Pours lightly hazy golden with a one finger off-white head with good retention. Taste has a moderate to high herbal bitterness that lingers with a little bready malt sweetness alongside. Nothing wrong with the palate. Fantastic hoppy pils.
