A historical British-style ale popular in the Victorian Era. A Rich, malty sweet darker colored Ale with a supporting firm hop bitterness. Deep malt notes lend impressions of dark fruit (cherries, black currants, and plums). British hops lend an earthy note mingled with orange marmalade. Additional notes of trecale and toffee. A little bitter sweet... but refined, and complex just like Ol’ Burty-boy.

On tap at brewery. Hazy brown pour. Fluffy tan head. Big malty aroma hints at toffee and spice. Soft, dark malt flavors lean toward figs, plums and caramel. Some spiciness on backend. Tasty.

Draught at source: pours brownish with off white head. Aroma is malt, spice, toffee and butterscotch. Taste is somewhat bitter, not too sweet, loads of malt.
