12 ounce can from the brewery - thick pour - dark ruby, nearly black - nose is intensely smoky, seriously meaty and woody, without much else breaking through - oily texture - highly sweet flavor, with the whiskey prominent up front - some dark fruit - a moderate acidity arrives late to try to balance, with mixed results - sharp finish that mellows as it warms - it’s when it hits room temp that things really balance out a bit - still a little boozy, but the acidity is a little more balanced - smokiness is intense, but melds into the whiskey character more - spicy rye whiskey finish - okay, I wasn’t sure at first, but I’m sold.
