Draught at source: pours black with beige head. Aroma is vanilla and whisky and wood. Sweet but then very dry. Vanilla. Whisky.

2023 can from the brewery - “barrel-aged imperial stout with vanilla bean” - 15.2% - I think the two entries for this beer should be merged and simply called “Thanatoid” - viscous black pour - nose thick with vanilla, whiskey, maple, chocolate - thick, oily mouthfeel - quite sweet, heavy with vanilla and whiskey flavor - touches of smoke, chocolate, espresso - substantial warmth on the tail end - it’s a burly beer, for sure, but enjoyable as a slow sipper.
