Sometimes described as one of London’s “lost rivers”, the New River glides silently into London, often hidden from passers-by, particularly where it tunnels beneath the streets. This delicately dry hopped, pale straw coloured beer is, similarly, wonderfully discrete and easily swallowed up, so we think the name is a perfect fit!

Cask gravity at the St Albans BEER festival 2016. A pale yellow straw coloured pour with a lasting loose white head. Aroma is nice fruity lemon, straw, apricot, hint of vanilla. Flavour is composed of jammy citrus, custard, apricot, lemon rind and straw. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation, decent cask condition. Not bad.
