We plucked a few Jamaican Rum barrels to age Bob’s big, toasty & roasty Imperial Stout in and we couldn’t be happier with how this turned out. Velvety smooth with huge & wild flavors picked up from the rum including raisin, plum, & chocolaty fruit which all work to chill some of the more aggressive notes of our Imperial Stout. With our barrel aging, whether it’s barley wine or saison, we try to find a delicate balance between the flavors from the barrel & how they blend with the beer itself, with one not overpowering the other. This one, however, we let the rum barrels tush-push some of its bigger flavors onto the beer.

Draught at Barcade: pours black with brownish head. Aroma is rummy, chocolate, licorice, roasted malt. Tasre is slightly woody, low bitterness, sweetish. Barrel is thete to support and does not take over.

12oz can from my brother. Dark brown pour with a paper thin beige head. Rum barrel is evident upon opening, sweet brown sugar notes. A little boozy. Rum is the dominant flavor too, sweet molasses, light roasty notes and a pleasant warmth. Nice to have an imperial stout that doesn't clobber you with ABV.
