OK, long before New Belgium started making the voodoo ranger series, there was this western PA brewer; Voodoo. I told those guys at voodoo PA to send a decease notice to NB but they were just a little company at the time and had no extra cash to sue. Oh well, now we know that voodoo NB is a fricken big deal with tons of variations, and voodoo pa keeps chugging along. Anyway, this stuff is dead on IPA with no frills, exactly what IPA should be. Simple, hazy, rude, and terribly on style. Nose is mello pine. Yes, taste is really bitter without being phenolic at all. These guys at voodoo pa really know how to make styles that are dead on style all over the style spectrum. If you ever have a chance to try some of their brews, pick em up, you won't be disappointed.

Taster at the brewery. Pours a pale, dull, yellow color, with a medium, bubbly, white head. Aroma is orange juice, cloves, band-aids, and rose. Phenoic and sweet. Medium body, acidic, and fairly clean. Weak and unfortunate.
