Can from Beer Wine Nation
Dark amber color with a huge frothy off white head that shows great retention. Bready toasty caramel maltiness with bits of earthy spice and fruit to counter. Lightly bitter earthy spices.

Yet another rating into the void and maybe the last rating of 2024. Christmas dinner beer, I thought it paired fairly well with the roast beast. More phenol than expected, and while I normally don't like phenolic beers, maybe I'm coming back to them, but it was also balanced well by a mild fruity malt profile, some caramel and fig like notes. Well balanced, nice carbonation, this seems like maybe what Fat Tire should have been (though a bit on the stronger side, but if you scall this down to 5.5% and keep the grain bill and yeast, that could make a nice beer - is that the OG Bolleke?). The strength isn't an issue here, that was just an aside as I was just reminded of the so-called story behind Fat Tire.

Pour is a murky tan with a large white head. Aroma is caramel malt, butterscotch and a herbal hop. Flavor Is more of sugar covered fig with more caramel malt and a spicy hops finish. I've had the OG Bolleke but I don't remember much about it. This is a pretty decent Belgian amber. Nice dark fruits throughout and the yeast esters come out more as this warms.

16oz can from a Brewers Haven. Amber pour with a small off-white foamy head. Toasty, Mary aroma with subtle yeasty notes. Taste is malty, brown sugar, candy, yeasty and sweet really really tasty
