Cask at The Wellington, Birmingham. Near black, hint of ruby red in a certain light, small beige head. Smoky and malty in aroma. Taste of dark malt, dark chocolate, bread, booze soaked berries, smoke and hint of meaty woody notes. Medium bodied, slick, drying finish. Interesting stout.

Gravity cask at the Handsome Sam, Whitstable. Poured almost black in colour with a bubbly off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, sweet chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty, sweet chocolate, light hop spicy, light vanilla palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask by stillage at One Inn The Wood, Petts Wood on 5th January 2024. Almost impenetrably black and pale tan foam foam spot lacing. Rich coffee roast malt aroma. Roasty malts in-mouth with tangy fruits and coffee. A finish of both flavours. Light to medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.
