Crisp, and balanced. It’s inspired by one of our founders’ family heritage. John Patek immigrated from Czechoslovakia to Shiner, TX in 1895. We chose to brew our first Czech Pils as an homage to the “old world”, the Pateks, South Texas, and Polka!
We brewed with pilsner malt and added a touch of Vienna and Munich Malt for subtle complexity. Then we liberally hopped it with Czech Saaz hops for a balanced bitterness and pleasant herbal hop aroma with a touch of lemon. Finally, it was fermented with a classic Czech strain and lagered for a crisp and refreshing finish!

16 ounce can from Tavour. Medium gold pour. Frothy white head. Bready malt aroma. Flavor is more of the same. Earthy, bready malt backbone. Grassy hops have a bit of spiciness. Tasty, and a faithful representation of the style.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear gold with a very large foamy white head that did a bit of lacing down. Aroma seems Noble grass/spice. Med body. It's a little bready, but dry and has a lot of Nobility. Good flavor.
