Double dark ale is our attempt to brew from scratch a beer that rides the line between barleywine and imperial stout. This version was aged for 19 months in a blend of Willett Rye and 15 Year 1792 Calumet Farms Bourbon barrels. Finished on toasted coconut. Brewed in honor of one of the most innovative, pioneering, and influential bladesmiths in our modern era, Steve Schwarzer.

Waxed capped 375 from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a slight rusty tan head. Aroma of rye with a coconut note. And heat. Full bodied. Flavor is sweetish dark malt, rye, coconut and heat. Bourbon notes. Not dry, but not sticky. Heat and rye sub for hop bitter. Extremely tasty.
