The Anchorage crew started with a Barleywine aged in Woodford Reserve Double Oaked bourbon barrels before transferring it to Willett and then Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels for a total aging time of 18 months. Then they blended it with an Imperial Stout aged 21 months in a mix of Heaven Hill and Woodford Reserve Double Oaked bourbon barrels.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown amber hue with almost no head. A big malty nose, roast, huge bourbon. Sweet as hell, sugary molasses and caramel. Big boozy barrel. Vanilla. Lovely sugary, decadent. Hot as hell.

Waxed, capped 375 from Tavour. Pours dark brown with a transient, slight dark tan head. Aroma of bourbon and toasted/burnt malt with a coffee note. Full bodied/approaching sticky. Flavor is the aroma with a surprising suggestion of dark fruits - like plum. Oak astringency is discernible. Not dry. Whiskey, malt and heat suggest bitterness. Quite good flavor.
