Waxed 500 from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours very dark brown with a transient, slight dark tan head. Aroma of rich chocolate and nuts. Extremely full bodied. Flavor is rich chocolate, smooth burnt malt, nuts and arguably some non-musty oak with bourbon notes. Not dry. Burnt malt bitter. Maybe a bit like Irish, but I think bourbon. Vanilla is detectable. Very good flavored ale this.
