Brewed with American 2-Row, Caramel, and Munich malts (that’s right – for those keeping score, we took out the Chocolate malt), spiked with a healthy addition of Piloncillo sugar. Loads of Warrior & Citra hops for bittering and flavor, topped with Belma for aroma. Careful.

16oz can. 100 IBU, thick, resinous old school IIPA in most respects. Rich, heavy, boozy...but clean and filtered/fined. Deep ruby red body. Right next door to Barleywine...well...sort of is one. A nice change of pace from what is on beer menus in 2023.

Sample at Great Taste of the Midwest on 08/09/2014: Deep copper-amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of citrusy hops, caramel malt and pine. The finish is moderately bitter with a hops and melon aftertaste. Pretty good all around.
