Four years after our first collaboration to create the original Barry Island IPA, Simon Martin (aka ‘The Real Ale Guide’) returns to brew Barry Island Grapefruit Pale Ale. A blend of Pale Ale and Cara malts create a sweet biscuit base, Citra, Mosaic and Summit hops add tropical and citrus fruit flavours and the addition of pink grapefruit creates an explosion of aroma and taste that is simply ‘Barrybados’ in a glass.

Cask-conditioned at the Yard Bar, Cardiff August 2016. Deep gold in colour, with a decent, white, head. Aroma of tropical fruits, sweetish malts and grassy hops. Flavour was also fruity and slightly sweet, with biscuity malts and dryish finish. Good.
