This ridiculously tasty Amber Ale is a Northwest classic and our flagship brew. Don’t just take our word for it - Full Sail Amber has brought home 28 gold medals. Not that we’re counting or anything. Malty sweet, medium-bodied with a reddish amber hue and a spicy floral hop finish, this is one great-tasting beer. We’re as proud of it today as we were back in ’89.

On tap at Brewforia
Appearance: Dark amber with a small white head, leaving some lacing in the glass
Aroma: Malts and bisquity
Taste: Sweet malts and yeast.
OK, but it was like chewing on a fresh piece of bread.

Shipped to me by my wife on a trip to Portland. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a red-brown color with a small khaki head that faded quickly. The aroma was lightly malty and a touch fruity with faint nut underneath. The flavor was dry and nutty with hints of cherry, roasty malts and wood. The finish was short, nutty and woody. Medium body. Ok.

12 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear dark amber color with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of toasted malts, citrus hops and a faint nutty note. Taste is caramel malts, leafy citrus hops, a bit of toasted grain and a bitter finish. Medium bodied. Tasty beer.

Barley nose, a little mushroomy. Clear chestnut, no head. Thin mouthfeel. Barley and cherries with a nuttiness to it, dandelions underneath. Vanilla and walnut finish. Not a bad amber.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a small off-white head. Roasted malt and light fruity hops aroma. Sweet caramelish flavoured, light toffee like and with a mild fruity hops note. Bitter and slight citrusy to the malt profile into the finish.

Clear amber with a soapy lace - nose of brown sugar, dark bread, light tartness - medium body, moderate carbonation - a bit of hop bitterness makes way for smooth crystal malt flavors, a bit of biscuity character, some caramel, toasted cereal grains - gets a little tart, fruity, and tangy on the back end, and light hop bitterness returns - clean and refreshing - sure, amber ales can be boring, but I’ll give credit to a decent one.

bottle, pours light brown, thin tan head. Toasted, bready aroma. Brown sugar and doughy body, lightly spiced in the finish. Not bad, but doesn’t stand out in anyway to me.
