This ridiculously tasty Amber Ale is a Northwest classic and our flagship brew. Don’t just take our word for it - Full Sail Amber has brought home 28 gold medals. Not that we’re counting or anything. Malty sweet, medium-bodied with a reddish amber hue and a spicy floral hop finish, this is one great-tasting beer. We’re as proud of it today as we were back in ’89.

Pint: in Valhalla, New York on 18 Jan 2013. Pours a good clean amber colour with a thin white topping. Malts lead the way in both the aroma and taste. Sweet and tasty brew (I like malty, sweet beers), caramel and dark fruit hints hide the alcohol well and I really enjoyed this beer, my last in New York before re-joining my cruise ship after a day wandering around and drinking.

Draught at the Pilsner Room in Portland. Nice malty, nutty nose with slight hops: grass, citrus, mineral, earth. Medium brown color with orange and a fine, low nitro-esque head. Malty, nutty flavor with cocoa, earthy hops and a light fruity tang. Decent but not exceptional.

Tastes kind of malty, a little sweet. Not sure what else to say about it. Its red. A big dose of astringence at the end. Tapers off in sourness, like grapefruit altogether. Bottle from health food Lebanon.

12 oz bottle into English pint. Pours a clear copper hue with a small off-white quickly collapsing head; leaves a ring of foam. Aroma is malty; I smell some faint cinnamon, caramel, wet dog. Taste is bittersweet with a tangy finish. Carbonation is medium-high, body is full, mouthfeel is creamy. Definitely one of the best ambers I’ve ever had.
