Rich and malty dark lager is a great match for the darkest period of the year here in northern Finland. Tuikku has a complex malt profile making it rich and flavorsome dark lager for the abv. Expect to find deep grainy notes, dark fruits, some caramel and a touch of dark chocolate as well. Some spicy German bitterness in the finish makes it even more interesting. A perfect pairing for the rich plates of strudy food traditionally served this time of the year.

Smell of rye bread. Deep copper colour, off-white head. Aroma of sour malt, some ash and peat. Medium bitter. Dry palate. Medium carbon.

(Keg at Barski Helsinki, 20241105) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had toasted malts, molasses, grass and caramel. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, toasted malts, molasses and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. Good.

Tap at Juova, Helsinki. Color is clear dark brown with small head. Aromas and flavors: Bread, some chocolate, malts... clear flavors.

Keg @ Barski, Helsinki. Poured dark brown in color. Bready malts and light spiciness and toastedness. Fairly dry. Decent dunkel.

Bottled 330ml
Ruby-brown colour, small beige head. Toasted sweetish aroma with some nuttyness. Light-bodied. Flavour is similar: sweetish, toasty, some chocolate with low bitterness. Very Mid-European.

0,4l on tap @ Rooster. Pours clear dark chestnut with a medium head. Aroma is sweet nutty toasted malts. Flavor is nutty toasted malts with some coffee, some hops. Good.
