On tap at the Carlsbad location. Pours with a hazed golden hued body with a small white head that lasts and leaves good lace. Aromas are of orange, marmalade, pineapple, medium dankness, floral hops. Very light malt presence. Flavors are dank, floral, spicy hops, citrus, pine resin. Medium evidence of high cohumulone hops felt with the hop bitterness and light throat burn. High bitterness with a bitter balance that is not overwhelming. Medium bubbles, dry. Classic Pizza Port IPA.

Draught at Ølbaren
Hazy light amber color; creamy head. Very deep hop aroma, fruity and creamy; peaches, apricots; the final is nicely earthy. The body is well structured, and the mouthfeel is very smooth; highly carbonated; toffee flavor, on the dry side, with minimum residual sugars; powerful hopping, with smooth but determined resins, and a fruity touch. The final is dry and bitter. Very good, apparently still quite fresh.

Draft. A dark golden beer with a lazing whipped cream like yellowish head. The aroma has notes of hops, lime, and grapefruits. The flavor is rather sweet with sticky notes of caramel combiend with notes of malt and lots of hops, lemon, and grapefruit, leading to a bitter finish.

On tap. Clear, deep golden with a dense and creamy off-white head that leaves some lacework. Plenty of peach notes in the nose from the aroma hops. Quite full-bodied, very smooth mouthfeel, sweet fruitiness, a little yeast and phenols and then a massive hop build-up on your palate towards the finish. Very classic American westcoast IPA. 211010

Bistro 13th IPA Fest notes. For the day, I picked this as the runner-up, a close second to Russian River’s Hopfather. Extremely pungent aroma. Intense and thick with tons of hops. Grapefruit, floral, pine hops combine wonderfully with honey and light malt notes. A real hop juice. Solidly bitter in the finish, nearly astringent. Medium dry and smooth. Great stuff.

Clear golden with a medium to large beige head. Hoppy aroma with pine, grapefruits and malty hints. Flavor had loads of hops, pine and grapefruits. Finished dry and bitter. Nice one.
