Our Irish Red Ale is named after Merl, the Dirt Farm family dog. Toasty and smooth with notes of caramel and chocolate. It is loyal, sweet, beautiful in color, and the best companion, just like ol’ Merl! —2016 VCBG Gold Medal Winner!

Caramel color with a large foamy beige head that lingered and left good lacing. Toasty malt, strong wood and a malty undertone. Medium finish and body.

Taster at Dirt Farm. Dark amber / reddish pour, small bubbly head. Malty aroma, sweet, toffee. Taste brings light leathery notes to the mix, and some dry bitterness towards the finish. Really solid read ale.

Crowler: pours hazy amber with an off white head. Aroma is biscuits and hints of caramel... very Itish ale. Low carbonation. Smooth body. Low hops. Slightly sweet. Pretty chuggable. Not super exciting but does the trick.
