At 8.5% this somewhat strong Scotch Ale is a frosty weather favorite with caramel and malty flavors from the Appalachian grown pale malt - just enough booze to warm you up after a pint or two. Balanced with the dryness Highland Country maple syrup gives to such a beer this offering is sure to pair well with wild game or good company!

Taster at Woodstock. Muddy brown pour, tiny ring of head, kind of ugly. Malty aroma, very sweet. Taste was very sweet, no peated malt presence, just off in enough ways that I would never have guessed wee heavy if tasting blind. Could not finish the sample.

Dark honey, tea nose. Clear bronze, medium tan head. Dried leaves, bark, soil. Sweet malt accents. Medium body, easy carbonation, alcohol concealed.
