1 4 Keeps (One For Keeps) is a characterful ale of French origin. The dark amber colour, the moderate body, the pleasant malty sweetness, and the light hop bitterness, lift the unmistakeable yeast character.
Biere de garde taste improves over time and it is best consumed at least 6 months after bottling. A bit more about the history of this wonderful beer type can be found in the label.
Best served between 5-8°C.
INGREDIENTS: water, barley malts, hops, yeast, vanilla extract, almond extract, and corn sugar. Contains gluten. Nothing else.

Tap at Tearsrop Barzino, Oxford. Aroma had honeyed fruit and a light sour edge. Cloudy amber. Foamy off-white head. The flavour matches the aroma. Fruity. Honey (mentioned this and the guy running the bar and he said there was a secret ingredient). Light-medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish.

Bottle from the brewery online shop. Pours hazy copper with a short-lived thin white head. Aromas of red fruit, malt, light spice. Taste is more of the same. Light sweet finish.

Bottle from the brewer's own stall at the Witney Food Festival 2017. Stored for a year as recommended by the very enthusiastic brewer. Amber with a large white head. Lemon, spice and light metal aroma. Banana, spice and malty caramel taste. The mouthfeel is a bit too fizzy for my liking with some chalkiness too. It tastes great though; it's well balanced and the spiciness is top notch. Yet another good beer from this brewery.

Bottle from Drunk Dry, Kidlington, Oxon, Sunday 5th February 2017 whilst cooking a Ragu and making home made pasta. Murky amber, straight away I feel that it’s quite sweet, easy going, no bitterness, fruity but not distinctive. This is fine, it’s a pleasant enough beer but not really rattling my cage.
