A Belgian Dubbel inspired by the chocolate orange holiday dessert. Rich malty flavour of toast and caramerized sugar, raisin and plum notes, and a hint of spiciness blends with fragrant orange and dark-chocolate character. Dark amber color with reddish hue. Complex and sweet impression but fairly dry and easy drinking.

Amber brown, small beige head. Light orange nose. Massive spicy yeast, wrong for style, not a dubbel. Why bother ?

4oz pour at brewery. Pours clear dark amber. Aroma has sweet bread, Flavour has sweet bread, caramelized orange peels, stale bread.

On tap at Parallel 49, pours a deep dark mahogany brown with a small beige head. Aroma has some Belgian yeast expression, light orange, a bit of cocoa, and some red fruits. Flavour is less promising, with lots of orange and chocolate that overtakes; too estery and too much of the adjuncts, which covers over whatever might be authentic about this (which is not much). North American breweries should stop attempting styles they clearly can't make properly.

Poured from the tap @ P49. Clear amber orange with small off white head. Lots of candied orange with Belgian yeasts. Novelty garbage, not a dubbel at all...
