Our brand new XPA is an IPA but amplified. It’s a 100% an IPA, but with added strength and a bolder hoppy character it’s sure to please. It strikes a perfect balance between the sweet smooth malt base with a hint of caramel and it’s assertive hoppy finish. The hop character is loaded with citrus, tropical fruit and pine, and the finish is just slightly sweet and fruity.

473mL can. Pours clear gold with white head. Aroma has citrus, butterscotch. Flavour has a ton of bitter burnt rubber, citrus peel. Pretty mild carbonation.

473mL can, pours a clear copper orange with a small white head. Nose has plenty of diacetyl, lots of sweet caramel malt, and bitter resins. Flavour has resinous hops, diacetyl, and syrupy caramel malt. Bitter and buttery -- that diacetyl destroys this. There's more egregious butter bombs out there, but this is still undrinkable in my books.

Poured from the tap @ Boxing Rock Halifax. Clear golden orange with small white head. Resinous grapefruit hops, feint caramel malt with just a feint hint of diacetyl. Minus the diacetyl (very feint), this is what I would consider to be a better version of Vicars Crossing (more hop bitterness, slightly less maltiness, but otherwise quite similar).
