Cask at Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford. Pours an almost murky reddish brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is a strange mix of ash and boozy autumn fruits. A semi-sweet fruitiness is immediate in thw mouth. There’s a mix of oranges, red wine gums, and berry fruits with an underlying caramel base and a slightly oily texture. Finish is fruity and slightly bitter. This is quite nice – refreshing.

330ml can. Pours mahogany, beige head, a crescent shaped retention. Aroma is full on malts, chocolate, a little hoppy fruit note. Taste is semi-sweet malt, chocolate, mild roastiness, some mild orange note. Mild bitterness in the finish. Quite a fattening beer I think. Its needs to be more flavoursome to make the extra waste line worth it!
