A deep dark purple ale with a thin rosey head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light acidity, Brett, light lactic notes, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity mix of ground cherry, raspberry, light lactic notes, very nice.

Fruit really balancing that cascade sour profile. Lots of berry notes, some zingy lemon brightness

Draught at Cleat and Anchor, 6/3/22. Deep, magenta-hued, royal purple. Seems to have good clarity but hard to be sure. Yellow-flecked head is small, showing low retention. Nose is deep and fruity, very juicy with good acidity but not-overbearingly-so. Excellent malt depth adding light honey, dough and such. Touch of oak on the end with no alcohol or flaw. Soft and juicy in the mouth with bright fruit and bacterial acidity. Great malt depth with a soft, malty texture. Lingering berry acidity with long vanilla and sweet dough.

(On tap @ Birreria Volo, Toronto, Sept 26/19) Pours nearly clear dark red with a small whitish cap. Notes of nice jammy blackberries, currants and red grapes with accents of peppery herbs, subtle lemon, a fair amount of wet wood, horseblanket and wet hay funk, restrained acidity and even a little fruity sweetness, just a hint of fruit vinegar, restrained tannins into the drying finish. Medum bodied, oily, soft to moderate carbonation. Much better balanced than I tend to expect/fear from Cascade, a quite nice complex brew.

Cork-top bottle, 0.50l, shared with colleagues. Aroma of wood, wet socks, horse blanket, berries and lemon. Pours hazy dark ruby color with thin quickly diminishing tan-like head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts tart citrusy and berry-like, following is malty, woody and funky with crisp mouthfeel. Medium body, oily texture and lively carbonation in palate. One way and the right way...

Sampled at Snallygaster 2019. Poured a super purple color with a small off-white head. Aroma was lots of berry, cherry skins. Funky, but not overly acidic - avoids that strong acidic character that often shows up in Cascade beers.
