Wetherspoon Autumn Beer Festival 2018. Cask @ Leeds Station Wetherspoon. Dark copper with a head. It’s light malty with a gentle sweetness.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 11/10/2018. Reddish amber in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Citrus and red berry fruits, chewy malts, leafy hops and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

[ As Castle Rock Wheel of Fortune ].
ABV: 4.6%. Clear medium to dark brown - red amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt, toffee notes, light licorice. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, caramel, toffee, licorice notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20181021]

Pours a reddish brown colour with a small off white head. A grainy malt aroma, some bramble berry and floral notes. A sweetish malt taste, some cereal, toffee and fruit flavours. Not much hop character or bitterness and a bit thin.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. A reddish copper pour with a tight cream head; floral aroma; rather thin with a sweet taste and a touch of liquorice; then dry to finish with lingering toffee and malt. Needs more body.

16th Oct 2018. 3rd of a pint in my local Wetherspoon (William Withering, Wellington Shropshire). Enjoyed it so much I had another half-pint before leaving the pub. Liked the colour, look and taste of this red hued amber beer. Malty, fruity and semi-sweet throughout, light herbal traces too.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Amber-brown with a thin off-white head and a light fizz. Fruity and floral up front with a good rich malty flavour. Grapefruit and earthiness come through with a touch of caramel at the end. Decent.
