From old tasting notes. Deep reddish brown color. Rocky tan head. Sweet roasted caramel malt nose. Bittersweet roasted malt flavor. Hints at currants and port wine. Dry spicy hop finish.

Originally rated September 2004. Read bad things about this beer. Poured a hazy copper-red colour with a quick dissipating head. Not much carbonation. Had aromas of sweet malts, apples and hints of vinegar. The mouth was of caramels with a dry aftertaste. Flat mouthfeel. I actually enjoyed this one, even after the bad hype.

bottle - Pours amber with a thin head. It has a malty aroma iwth maybe a little dark fruit tone. The flavor was also malty and put me in mind of raisins to go with the caramel malts and mild hops. The medium body was a little watery and the finish mildly dry. I expected a little better ratings here.

Dark reddish-brown color with a thin off-white head. Malty aroma with hints of fruit. Flavor of light brown sugar with some fruit.

Pour is a dark red with a white head. Aroma is caramel malts and other dark things. Flavor is pretty weak but you get some dark fruit flavor and brown sugar in there. Good enough for a rating.

Not too bad. Sweet flavor, which does not overwhelm, and not that bad of a finish. I don’t know why the price was so high for this beverage.

2004 bottle. Fiery red tinges color this dark brownish-red ale. Small off-white head, lightly fizzy. Ample aroma of light roast, caramel, chocolate and some sweet brown sugar. Flavor is more of the same, light sweet roast, a bit of sugariness that seems a tad artificial, but not too much so. Flavor is full, at least, while not horribly complex. Still, for a largely produced lager, this stuff is great. Body is medium with an almost creamy consistency. This could get boring and sweet in large doses though.

Nothing special here. Starts with a good malt aroma with just a touch of hops. Slightly bitter flavor. Largely unremarkable beer.

Dark amber in colour with red highlights and almost no head. Sweet citrus smell with plentiful malt in the aroma. Light-bodied...pretty watery with tastes of malt and some bitterness left over. A decent red , definately not one of my favourite styles, but acceptable! I bought this 12 ounce bottle from Total Beverage in Thornton (Denver), Colorado.

Appropriate bood-red coloration, and a very unassuming beer. Not quite as good as the Blackened Voodoo but a passable Ale. Very low-key flavor that makes the beer go by without your noticing it. So-so overall.
