Can (4/15/21) pour from Valley Beverage, Sherman Oaks. It's a hazy dark yellow with nice sparkle, finger-width white foamy head with excellent retention and nice rings of lacing. Aroma is sweet caramel malt and with tart fruit, mild oak. Taste is strong sweet brown bread and mix of tart and sweet (grape?) fruit with minerals and mild oak. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, lively carbonation and mostly malty finish. Overall, fairly unique and the oak/tart fruit quality works pretty well with the sweet malts. Well crafted. Over carbonated.

Pint can - labeled as an oak-aged maibock - hazy medium gold - creamy texture - not as sweet as many examples of the style, but the malt richness you expect is still present - moderate herbal bitterness, slight mineral quality, moderate oak on the back end - decent.

Tap at Cap Tap. Pours ambery gold with a white head. A somewhat dark breadiness with mild, mild hop. Med body. Flavor is bready with some light hop. Crisp; clean. Not dry. A little bitter - more than more of the style. Not working really well for me tho.
