Dogfish Head has been brewing off-centered ales for off-centered people since 1995, with inspiration from every facet of life - the spice cabinet, music, even art.

What you have here is a serious India Pale Ale shacking up and hunkering down with mango and apricots. At the same time! Romantic Chemistry is brewed with an intermingling of mangos, apricots and ginger, and then dry-hopped with three varieties of hops to deliver a tropical fruit aroma and a hop-forward finish.

It’s fruity, it’s hoppy, it’s tasty!

Draft at Cloverleaf. Copper color, with a reddish hue. Strongly tropical fruity on the aroma with a bit of a sugary sweetness. Flavor is more sweet than hoppy. Light bitterness. Okay.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a semi-glossy to almost burnt orange color with a fair transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace. Light lacing glosses around the sides of the glass nicely.
The smell takes in the mangoes and apricots nicely. Caramel malts blend in delicately as it warms.
The taste takes the sweetness from the previously mentioned \"fruit\" portions and blends nicely with some bitter hoppy oily and semi-herbal flavors. Definitely a fruity sweet aftertaste with a quick wet fruity/oily finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation runs good as an AIPA with a nice bitterness running all about.
Overall, I see this as an AIPA and not a fruit beer which is what the brewer says and after tasting, smelling and feeling it. This is no where close to a fruit beer, but honestly, I like this one for me and really don’t care enough whoever added it on here wrong.

From a 12oz bottle. Poured a clear orange color with a small off-white head. Flavor was light ginger, apricots. Light notes, some very mild hop character. Not too sweet, which makes this alright in my book. An actual okay new release from this brewery.

12oz bottle. Filtered deep copper body. Thin, foamy off-white head. Pretty thick on the palate for the style, but smooth from filtration. Deep fruit tones. Classical, almost 75 minute IPA underneath. A little better than most of the Fruited IPAs of 2016, decent depth, well brewed.

Think I like the Aprihop better. Aroma is spice, fruit, malt. Flavor’s a complex blend of fruit, malt and hop that starts off a bit sweet, then hop is fully there, followed by a dry bitterness. I don’t really pick out any of those fruits. Finish is nice as is body. Quite drinkable.

Bottle from wine warehouse. Pours golden Amber with a small off white head. Lovely but slight aroma of floral hops, peach, and tropical fruits. Taste is quite pleasant. Tropical fruit over grapefruit, peach or apricot, roasted malts. Oddly feels like a session ipa to me but I see it's a 7.2%er. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
