Borefts 2017 special. Jan & Charlotte was also brewed to be the 50.000 entry in RateBeer of Jan (and Charlotte is his wife) And this was his review :) [ As my rating # 50000 on ratebeer ]. 3.8 - Murky light to medium to dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly laasting off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, grapefruit, wood, light citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and light heavy bitter with a long duration, toasted, minerals, pine, wood, grapefruit, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily carbonation is soft. High Five & Still Great Fun

Bottle, thx Jan. An unclear brown beer with a small beige head. Very piney aroma, with pleasant tropical notes, citrus zest and some chocolate and roasted malts. It's full bodied, softly carbonated, and rather bitter, with some chocolate flavor. Mostly piney, citrusy flavor. Lasting hop driven finish. Vermont IPA meets Black IPA. 171231

Bottle, bb 9/18. Looks like liquid fertiliser - opaque brown with chunks, scummy beige head - a 2 for appearance is more than generous. Aroma of earthy yeast, orange and grapefruit juice, pine roast, licorice, bread. The earthiness drops away a fair bit and the fruit is quite juicy but doesn't outmatch dark bread and some chocolate. The modest bitterness gradually comes to a point after it dries out a little. Citrus and underripe stone fruit linger at the end. The finish is really lovely.and makes me forget the slight bite and general ugliness of the murk.

Bottle @ Home, courtesy of Fonefan, thanks Jan! Pours cloudy dark brown with a creamy offwhite head, light lacings. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, light licorice, rich fruity hops, citrus, grapefruit, light pine. Flavor is light bitter, malt, chocolate, licorice, fruit, citrus, lemonpeel, grapefruit. Medium body, average carbonation, light bitter finish. 131217

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of citrus, passion fruit, peach and pine. Pours murky brown color with thin quickly diminishing tan-like head, sparkling appearance and many floating particles. Taste starts light sweet grainy, caramelly and fruity, following is roasty and grassy, mouthfeel is smooth and mild spicy, while finish is moderate bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Like a puddle of mud, but juicy one...

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; murky brown pour with a creamy light tan head, aroma has yeast and a hint of chocolate, taste is quite phenolic not what I was expecting from a CDA, some chocolate, hint of citrus.
