Waxed bomber from La Riviera. Pours hazy ruddy dark brown with a beige head. Aromas of rye and brandy. Full bodied or nearly. Flavors of rye, musty oak, and brandy. Sort of pre-oxidized taste that must come from the wood. Fairly dry. Arguably bitter in a moderate way, but I can't really parse out any particular hop. Really hits me pretty much like an old ale. Good stuff.

Bottle thanks to Ilya. Pours a deep hazy brown with an off-white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a combination of rye, sweet dark grain, brandy and a bit of booziness. Flavor has sweet dark grains with a bit of toffee and dark fruits underlying and a bit of rum barrel.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks Levi. Brown-colored with a beige head. Aroma of malt, wood, vanilla, brandy, some fruitiness, caramel, a bit of licorice, a bit of coconut and a bit of alcohol Sweet flavor, dominated by the barrel character, with malt, caramel, vanilla, brandy, some fruitiness, a bit of spiciness, wood and an alcoholic finish. Medium to full-bodied. The barrel character is very nice, but the base beer character is too light to back it up.
