You can play boundary pushing flavor games all you like but you should never turn your back on fundamentals. HopPun is born of playing with the most straightforward of beers- the hoppy American Pale. We push around as yet unnamed experimental hops with Super Galena and Mosaic, soften the edges with a traditional pale malt bill and then tie it all together with the fruity esters of British yeast. Look for the tutti-frutti/berry side of modern hop aromatics laying on a pleasant drinking Pale. Drink HopPun and keep the chops sharp.

16 oz can from NY Beer Distributors @ home (brewed & canned at Two Roads!). 7 weeks in the can. Orange/light amber color, slightly hazy. Rocky white head with reasonable retention. Aroma’s of resinous hops, a bit fruit jam. Retronasal it’s a bit resin and citrus, light bitter, light malt. Flavor is light bitter, with some malty sweetness. Light bodied, not too thin. Malts and light bitterness in the finish. Nothing too exciting, but tasty enough.

Draft at La Isla, Uptown, 7/25/15
Unclear orange color with an off white head and medium lace. Good fruity/juicy hop aroma. Tropical, mango, pine, and some stone fruit. Light sweet up front, finishes bitter and very clean. Really enjoyable flavor profile. Crushable, if you like that sort of thing. Very clean and drinkable. Really loved how this paired with the spicy Cuban food at La Isla.

Growler from Joe Canal’s in Lawrenceville, NJ. Amber orange color. Small creamy beige head. Nice lacing. Wonderful tropical fruit malt aroma. Notes of melon, caramel and sweet basil. Toasted malt flavor with ample peppery bitter hops to boot. Fruity notes with bready malt flavors. Very drinkable. Nicely done.
