Brewed to celebrate the launch of the pop-up coffee shop in our pub @thebrewerstap, and the start of our collaboration with local roasters @lowtidecoffeeco. This stout uses the same blend of Colombian & Ethiopian coffee beans as our house espresso. We added vanilla pods and oat cream to give it a silky sweet flavour and a coffee dose that’s the equivalent to a double espresso in each can!

Keg at Brewers Tap, Southsea. Rich espresso aroma with some maltiness. Dark. Cola tint. Opaque. Creamy beige head retreats quickly. Wow - full on coffee bitterness and accompanying sour berries. Finish gets quite vinous. Medium bodied. Creamy. Long astringent finish. Certainly a coffee stout. Can't complain about a lack of coffee. A big big beer. But it made think of trips to Finland... being used to weak British coffee I get stomach ache after a few days of the Finnish brew.
