This is the first Mash Gang beer made at the Northern Monk, and is going to be a self proclaimed monument to excess!
For this recipe, take the rye and oat heavy base from I AM BECOME DEATH, some high temperature yeast abuse generating some funky fruity esters, now, take the hop bill, its a lot right? Don't worry, DOUBLE IT!
Multi stage dry hopping with an astronomical amount of IDAHO 7, its absolutely SOAKING in it.
What this leads to is a hazy, sweet and cereal milk style body (no lactose in sight on this one, its just rye and maltodex) But a staggering amount of hops balances it all out.
And put it in a bigger 440ml can

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 4 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8
Can ordered from Hoppily, Leigh-on-Sea. Aroma is grassy, a touch of citrus, fried onions and carpet. Hazy pale gold. Thick frothy foamy white head. Medium bitter. A tad sour. Low key zesty citrus. A touch piney before taking on soda water qualities well before we get to the finish. Underlying umami. Light bodied. Thin. Fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. It's pleasent enough on a warm evening but I imagine hoppy soda water would be too and this is what comes to mind.
