Deep, dark brown with a frothy/creamy off-white head and a dark fruit and roasted malt aroma. Could do with being a little more full-bodied, but the mouthfeel is smooth and there's a nice balance of sweet fruit, roasted malt and hop bitterness

On cask @ the Rose & Crown, Ludlow. Appearance - Nose - malt loaf, burnt raisin. Taste - burnt raisin, molasses and liquorice. And still a malt loaf backdrop. Palate - medium bodied, chewy texture, creamy/chewy, finish with a good linger. Overall - very nice indeed. I'd say this is as much Mild as Bitter.

Cask at Rose & Crown, Stafford โ not listed in RateBeer. Another beer Iโve drunk on many occasions in the past, but never rated before. [ My friend variously refers to it as Mumbling Skunk, Stumbling Drunk or Rumbling Punk !]. Anyway, it pours a reddish copper with a small cream head. Nose reminds me of nothing so much as bread rolls and cream cheese ! A bit more conventional in the mouth where it is creamy with a balance of malts and hops plus hints of orange and caramel. Finish is more of the same really. A nice session beer, but not outstanding

Sample@GBBF2018, London, with the the Malmรถ crew - brown pour with a beige head. Toasted and sweet bready malty, some caramel, nutty accents, medium to light body, slight grassy, twiggy and herbal hoppy bitter finish.

ABV: 4.5%. Clear medium amber colour with a average, frothy - fizzy and open, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, caramel, fruity malt, wet wood - hay, light dark malt, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to light moderate bitter with a average duration, fruity malt, dark malt, hay. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20180807]

Cask at GBBF. It pours clear brown with a bubbly beige head. The aroma is earthy, briwn bread, wet wood, leather, toasted nut and spice. The taste is drying, bitter, earthy, leather, grapefruit, umami, spice and toasted nut with an earthy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not bad.

On cask at Duke of York, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out light cocoa, earthy notes, and toasted malt. Flavour is a bit tart, with toasted malt, English bready malt, and earthy notes. Smooth on the palate, finishing lightly tart and bready. Meh.
