Shadowlands Imperial Stout is the strongest and darkest beer we’ve brewed to date. Smooth and luscious with rich soft biscuit and chocolate notes to warm the soul. We’ve indulged ourselves with this recipe and we’re very excited for you to taste this dessert stout.

Can from Big Smoke Brew Co, Esher, Surrey. A black coloured pour with a healthy beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, chocolate, slight vanilla, quite smooth. Very nice effort indeed from Big Smoke.

Can from Wine Reserve, Cobham. Aroma is led by the vanilla and lactose providing a sweet - if sour - milk chocolate effect. Dark and glossy cola brown. Foamy light beige head. The initial flavour has a sour booziness to it, with a medium-heavy bitter core. Underlying sweetness (vanilla tinged creamy chocolate) then appears but its bitter and boozy throughout. Medium bodied. Creamy. Slick. Average prickly carbonation. After the boozy start it smooths out and malty chocolate gains strength. A good first Impy Impy Stout for Big Smoke.
