Can from Hoptimism. Aroma is underpinned by the barrel ageing which adds to the berries, vanilla and dark chocolate. Glossy black. Tan head soon fades to almost nothing. The vanilla is up front flowed by tart (but not overly so berries). The booze then comes through adding a bitterness but mixed with dark chocolate. And it's the boozy barrel-aged that then really takes over. However Mediumit benefits from warming up and develops a liqourice and roasty streak. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Astringent finish. The barrel aging takes precedence here for a boozy stout that remains smooth. However I would like more of the pre-aged Stout in there.
