Packed full of goodness, this is a beer that tastes so much like breakfast, you’ll be setting your watch forward just to say you thought it was 1200 already! On second thought, don’t do that; just make some real waffles for breakfast and get back to this when it’s appropriate. We kept it relatively thin and light for a porter so you won’t have to call it a night after just one drink, but heavy enough balance out with something of a paler variety.

Bottle from A Hoppy Place, Windsor. The aroma certainly ticks the maple and pecan boxes. Hints of coffee and a medicinal edge. Opaque cola brown. No head. The medicinal theme carries on into the flavour - it's the combination of coffee and maple that end up highlighting the sourness. Dandelion and buttock also conws to mind. The pecan is pretty much lost. Light-medium bodied. Creamy/slick but still feels thin. Average carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. The spot aroma set this Stout up for a fall, not helped by the fact that it is quite odd tasting.
