A global cataclysm has brought the earth into complete chaos – volcanic ash covers the sky above, molten magma turns to charcoal rock and dark clouds unleash torrents of rain as crude oil explodes from the cracks below. As the dust settles, and the winds subsides, what’s left in the ruins can only be described as a mysterious black concoction. Murky, smoky and downright delicious. This is what will fuel the remaining survivors. Our Cascadian dark ale is not brewed for everyone. But then again, not everyone was built to survive the Apocalypse.

Keg at PoW, Farnborough. Fruity aroma with a resin edge - which then develops more and more coffee. Murky cola brown. A strand of translucent white bubbles for a head. Initial fruity berry sweetness before raw hop bitterness kicks in. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Long astringent finish. If there was more a balance between the fruitiness and the bitterness it would be pretty decent. But like a lot of oldschool breweries - this an Ascot beer with new hip craft style branding - the hops don't offer balance so it's overkill which I guess is appropriate for the apocalypse.
