‘Moonstrips’ takes its name from Eduardo Paolozzi’s 1967 screenprint portfolio ‘Moonstrips Empire News’. The beer’s recipe was inspired by David Bowie’s ‘Starman’, so we were drawn to the evocatively spacy ‘Moonstrips’ name.
Moonstrips is our “hazy, cosmic jive”. Typical of a German-style Hefeweizen, the look is a hazy golden-orange and the nose is a decidedly wheaty-banana. But rising through the wheatiness is a complex, rich smokiness reminiscent of an Islay whisky.
The taste is crisp and creamy, as sweet banana notes are undercut by the subtle peated smokiness. A satisfying thirst quencher, it pairs well with seafood and antipasti.

Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is slightly smoked wheaty and citrusy elements with some leathery touches. Flavour is floral, smoked, some wheat and mild earthy tones. Strange balanced.

Bottled 330ml (KCM Puuvilla)
Golden colour, small white head. Green apple, banana and light smoke in the nose. Light-bodied, watery. Smoke is quite weak in the flavour. Some banana, quite bitter flavour. Kind of strange Weissbier span.

Large tight white head stayed on a translucent pale golden still body. Punchy Roma with confectionery. Medium bodied, sharp & overly gassy. Almost sour on the front with under ripe fruit, confectionery & bitter stone fruit followed by pig finish. I just can't drink smoked.

Appearance is clear golden, with an enormous head which gradually settles. Aroma is wheaty malt, banana, cloves, hints of orange and spice. Taste is peppery, lemon hints, lots of peaty smokiness, spicy hoppy orange, zesty fizzy fruit. Lots of peat smoke on the end.

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, yellow-ish golden colour with average to huge, firm, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy hoppy, slightly wheaty and minimally smoky, malty aroma, minimally dusty yeasty overtones, notes of lemon, some apricot, a touch of banana, a peaty, waxy touch of wood ashes. Taste is dry, citrusy hoppy, slightly fruity, wheaty malty, minimally smoky, hints of apricot, a touch of banana, very subtle sweetness, minimally waxy, cautiously peaty finish. Oily-watery texture, slightly overcarbonated. quite restricted smokiness, nice fruitiness, a bit unbalanced, un-integrated. Grätzer resemblance.

Tåkete gulbrun med høyt tykt hvitt skum. Lukter hvete, gjær og noe honning. Middels fylde. Smaker hvete, søtlig, fruktig mot banan, urter og koriander. Kort
