Third in our Ryeclops series, our rye stout boasts a rich chocolate aroma mingled with rye spice. In every sip, flavours of dark chocolate grow mingled with a powerful crisp bitterness of pine and some liquorice. Creates a beautiful dark complex stout.

23/IX/17 - on tap @ Borefts Bierfestival 2017 (Bodegraven) - BB: n/a (2017-1661) Thanks to ratebeerians and friends for sharing today's beers!
Clear dark brown to black beer, no head. Aroma: very roasted, dusty, coffee, charcoal, cocoa powder. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: pretty bitter, roasted, alcohol, coffee, slightly sweet, hint of caramel, alcohol, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: charcaol, bitter, dusty, some cocoa powder. Black IPA? No way, José. This is a stout, not a BIPA!

Bottle at home, 1st September 17. Pours black with a lovely tan Guinness style head. Aroma is coffee, roasty, vanilla, wood. Palate is smooth and rich for the ABV, taste is roasty, dry, bitter, coffee beans, cocoa, dry bitter finish. More of a hoppy bitter dry stout than a BIPA, still very tasty.
